AUBURN APARTMENTS
Haverhill, Massachusetts

Great Bridge gave Haverhill's downtown revitalization efforts a boost when it developed the Auburn Apartments in the center city. Proactively addressing community and municipal concerns over development sprawl, Great Bridge selected a previously developed and abandoned downtown site for the Auburn Apartments. A vacant and dilapidated structure was demolished to make way for a new housing community which substantially improves the esthetics of the neighborhood. The four story elevatored building design was in keeping with the scale and facade of neighboring commercial and residential uses. Each unit is fully accessible for those with physical disabilities and a sizable community room is available for resident or community use.

The Auburn Apartments development process is a perfect example of how a municipality, community leaders, and a private developer can work together to address community housing needs in a responsible manner. Great Bridge worked closely with the City of Haverhill and the Haverhill Housing Authority to assure that the Auburn Apartments would be a valued community asset.
